Deadlock Patch Notes October 14, 2026: Baba Nerfs and Deadman Danny Buffs
Deadlock's October 14, 2026 update explained: every Baba nerf, the Deadman Danny buffs, the Radiant Regeneration change and the first win rates since.
Every Deadlock update broken down: what changed, who got buffed or nerfed and what it means for your ranked games.
Valve publishes the official Deadlock patch notes in the changelog section of the Deadlock forum and in the news feed on the game's Steam page. Each post is titled with the date of the update instead of a version number, and the notes are plain lists of changes, usually grouped into general changes, items and heroes. Most balance patches arrive without notice: the changelog post goes up when the update is already live.
Deadlock updates come in two sizes. Major updates rework the map, add heroes, items or whole systems, and change how a match plays from the first minute. Balance patches are smaller and retune numbers on heroes and items, such as damage, cooldowns, spirit scaling and soul costs, along with bug fixes. The gap between patches is irregular, from a few days to several weeks, and some small fixes ship without a changelog post at all, so they only turn up in the game files.
A balance patch never moves your rank. Ranks reset only between seasons, as our season reset guide explains. What a patch changes is which heroes win: a nerf to a popular hero can cost several points of win rate within a week, and a buff can lift a forgotten pick up the ladder. Our win rates page and tier list are refreshed after every balance patch.
Every new Deadlock patch gets its own article on this page, with the newest at the top. Each one goes through the changelog hero by hero and item by item, explains what the numbers mean in a match, and follows up with match data once players have had time with the changes. Hero guides are updated with the same patch, so builds and matchups stay current.
